Although we are telecommunications infrastructure specialists, nearly half our work falls outside that sector. Don’t let the “telecom” in our name fool you – if you need it, we can design, permit, build and operationalize it.

Engineering

We employ a diverse engineering staff to ensure a high quality, timely and cost-conscious solutions for our clientele. From site inspection and leasing to design and permitting, our engineers have decades of experience to draw upon.

Civil/Structural - Foundation design, building design, seismic bracing engineering as well as Utility Right-of-Way design and structural analysis.
Electrical - Commercial AC power design, prime power and back-up generator system design incorporating hybrid sources (generator / photovoltaic / wind), SCADA and generator control, DC power design, RF desktop studies and path analysis, Inside and Outside Plant network design, security and detection system design as well as wireless testing and systems analysis.
Mechanical - HVAC analysis and design as well as fuel system design often incorporating hybrid fuel sources and diesel or propane.
Regulatory Permitting - Local, state and federal entities as well as private lease and ROW acquisition.

Construction & Installation

Our highly trained, factory certified, professional technicians routinely install and commission communications equipment ranging from high-performance microwave and outside fiber optic network components to 4G LTE wireless systems and Satellite installations. We provide Structured Cabling for numerous public and private entities as well as Road and Runway lighting and signaling.

Whether the job calls for antennas and transmission lines or central office equipment installation, we have the experienced personnel to ensure a successful deployment. In addition to specialized communications equipment, our personnel install the infrastructure required for its reliable operation including Commercial and Roadway power and signaling, power generation and controls, wind turbines and photovoltaic arrays, diesel and propane fuel systems as well as DC plant back up systems.

From new tower installation to stand-alone, prefabricated equipment shelters for ocean cables to full size, commercial structures or remote facilities, we have the experience and skill to implement your building needs regardless of scale. We are a statewide innovator in foundation design and construction – our past installations have incorporated concepts ranging from concrete mass and driven pile to rock bolt and frozen arctic foundation systems.

Our logistic knowledge and capabilities for remote Alaska construction are unmatched. Our remote site projects routinely require the use of helicopter and barge logistics for mobilization of personnel and equipment and our facility in Palmer, Alaska is located on the south ramp of the Palmer Airport providing a direct connection between the local 6000-foot runway and the state’s road and rail system.

We offer Program Management in all areas of our performance capability: Engineering, Construction, Operations & Maintenance and Service Oriented programs, giving us keen insight on managing all aspects of program and project risk. At New Horizons, our policy is to provide the best possible value on time and on budget. As such, all programs are managed within our Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001-2015 and each Program is managed within our customers Deliverable, Budget and Schedule.

Complex multi-million dollar installations require knowledgeable oversight and control to ensure success. Our in-house Program Managers enable our customers to focus on their own customers while we handle the details of their infrastructure needs. From Feasibility Studies to Project Reporting and Scope, Schedule and Budget control, our Program Management Professionals provide Accountability and Transparency for our customers.
