Although we are telecommunications infrastructure specialists, nearly half our work falls outside that sector. Don’t let the “telecom” in our name fool you – if you need it, we can design, permit, build and operationalize it.
From humble beginnings...
In 1978, John Stuart Lee started a small family business out of his single engine airplane in remote Alaska. He had a singular mission of bringing unprecedented telecommunications capabilities to rural Alaska. Four decades later, New Horizons Telecom has dramatically evolved and grown into a major infrastructure provider for the entire state. A veteran owned enterprise, New Horizons is not only a job-creator, but a significant employer for the technology sector in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley. New Horizons enjoys unparalleled customer and employee relationships, underscored by its long history of repeat business as well as record high employee retention and second generation hiring.
Chief Executive Officer, Leighton Lee, whose parents started New Horizons over forty years ago, has spearheaded the growth of the business into the 21st century, building upon its legacy core competencies in telecommunications and infrastructure, into new, cutting-edge verticals, in one of the harshest environments on Earth.
“As technology solutions continue to evolve, so must the infrastructure designed to support, connect and integrate them. We are supporting tomorrow’s technology today - in Alaska and beyond.”
-Leighton Lee, CEO
